Undergraduate Programs and Courses
Undergraduate Programs and General Education oversees changes in currently offered programs and the creation of new programs, both of which require the approval of the Provost’s designee, Associate Vice President Howard Shapiro. Once approved at the Provost level, the program changes or new programs are submitted to the Board of Governors for final approval. All programs are taken to the Presidents Council of State Universities of Michigan for review by Academic Officers representing all 15 state universities of Michigan.
New course and change in existing course submissions also fall under the purview of Undergraduate Programs and General Education. Robert Garza in Catalogs and Course Records accepts New Course, Change in Existing Course and Course Materials Fees forms and channels the forms to the correct destination (Graduate School, Undergraduate Programs, Registrar, etc.) and maintains records of all course offerings.
